Kristine Cox
ACE-CPT, TRX, Pilates Reformer, Group Fitness

A lifelong competitive swimmer and former collegiate athlete, Kristine brings passion, precision, and performance to everything she does. She currently holds multiple U.S. Masters Swimming records at both the state and zone levels.
Kristine began her fitness career in 2010, teaching group exercise and coaching youth and masters' swimmers in Oregon. Upon moving to Bainbridge Island in 2017, Kristine continued coaching swimmers at the high school and club levels and continued teaching group exercise classes and began personal training. Since fall 2021, Kristine has been a valued member of the BIRC training team. Kristine holds a Bachelor of Science from Willamette University, is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer, AFAA Certified Group Fitness Instructor, with additional certifications in Pilates Reformer, Menopause Coaching, Indoor Cycle, TRX, and Barre.

Marie Figgins

Marie began her fitness journey in 2010, teaching group exercise classes at the YMCA in West Seattle. Inspired by the positive impact of fitness, she earned her personal training certification in 2012 and has been helping clients of all ages and fitness levels ever since.
Marie’s mission is to make fitness and good health a way of life—and to have fun while doing it! She brings that same energy to her own workouts, which include weightlifting, dancing, and running.

Kevin Houseman
ISSA-CPT
Kevin Houseman is a former collegiate and U.S. National Team swimmer whose training background spans world-class weight rooms and international competitions. After earning a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Northwestern University, Kevin finished his NCAA career with a runner-up finish at Division I Nationals and an SEC title in March, then continued learning inside one of the top collegiate strength & conditioning programs at the University of Tennessee.
A certified personal trainer and studying for his CSCS certification, Kevin takes a science-based, technique-first approach that makes the weight room welcoming and effective for all levels. His specialties include sport-specific strength and conditioning, powerlifting, bodybuilding, and introductory Olympic lifts. Kevin’s coaching philosophy is simple: the gym shouldn’t be intimidating, it’s an opportunity to learn, move, and improve. He believes consistent training supports both physical and mental health and can lead to a safer, healthier, and more fun life.

Heather Kirkwood

Heather is thrilled to be part of the Bainbridge Island Recreation Center personal training team. A lifelong Washingtonian and proud mother of three active boys, Heather brings both personal experience and professional expertise to her work with clients of all ages.
Heather holds a Personal Trainer Certification through ACE Fitness and began her fitness career in 2010 teaching group exercise at the YMCA in West Seattle. Her passion for fitness grew as she witnessed the impact of proper training—especially in youth sports—where injuries often stem from incorrect movement patterns or lack of sport-specific conditioning.

Heather’s mission is to help clients feel at home in the gym, regardless of their starting point. She understands that fitness can be exciting for some and intimidating for others, and she’s committed to helping each person find joy in movement and strength in their journey.

Max Martin
ISSA-CPT
Max has been a Personal Trainer since 2022, specializing in bodybuilding, powerlifting, strength, and conditioning. Max’s fitness journey has never been a straight line. Reaching 300lb at 13, he lost 140lb by age 15. After retiring from paddleboard racing due to a shoulder injury, he experienced a lack of consistency with his training that he didn’t realize was a fundamental component holding him back from living life to the fullest. Max specializes in working with teens and aims to help give them the structure and the fundamentals of fitness for a lifetime. Max believes that a truly healthy mind and heart need a healthy functioning body, and in today’s world, keeping a regular fitness schedule is a significant boost to anyone’s mental health. In his spare time, Max volunteers as a counselor and leader in his church’s local youth and kids’ programs and works with special needs youth in the community.

Maggie Miller

Maggie is not currently accepting new clients.
With over 20 years of experience in orthopedic and sports physical therapy, Maggie brings a deep understanding of movement, injury prevention, and performance enhancement to her training approach.
She earned her Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification in 2003, a credential that highlights her expertise in athlete development. Maggie is especially passionate about preventing knee injuries in female athletes and has been a featured speaker multiple times at the Washington State Strength and Conditioning Association’s Clinic.

Maggie offers fee-based group training classes throughout the year, grounded in current research so participants not only learn what to do—but understand why each exercise matters. Her science-based approach makes her a valuable resource for athletes and active individuals alike.
Bebe Rowlette
With over 15 years of experience, Bebe is a passionate and dedicated fitness professional who brings energy, compassion, and expertise to every class and training session. She began her journey in 2007 as a certified Zumba Instructor, sharing her love for dance and movement to build community and joy through fitness.
Believing that fitness is a lifelong commitment for all ages, Bebe expanded her credentials to become an AFAA-certified Group Fitness Instructor, specializing in aquatic exercise and senior fitness. She later earned her Personal Trainer certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) to deepen her impact and support clients more personally.

Tristan Trabucco

Tristan Trabucco is an ISSA-certified personal trainer specializing in corrective exercise and strength & conditioning. He works with clients of all ages and ability levels, helping them build confidence, increase strength, gain muscle, and establish sustainable fitness routines that last.
Having personally experienced both weight loss and weight gain, Tristan brings a deep understanding of the physical and mental aspects of fitness. This allows him to create individualized programs that truly fit each client’s goals, lifestyle, and needs.
Outside of the gym, Tristan enjoys music, spending time outdoors, and connecting with family and friends.
