All parks are under a Stage 2 Burn Ban. Charcoal fires and grills are prohibited until further notice. Thank you for helping protect our parks and communities.
The mission of the Bainbridge Island Metropolitan Park & Recreation District is to build a healthy community through effective, sustainable stewardship of the Park District’s parks and open space, and through the development and delivery of innovative cultural and recreation opportunities.
For over 50 years, the Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Recreation District has served the community by stewardship of parks and providing recreational and cultural programs to islanders of all ages. Many of the recent open space purchases have been transferred to the Park District, increasing the island’s park inventory to over 1500 acres, over 90% of which is protected open space.
The Park District is committed to providing a wide variety of leisure programs for all ages and interest groups, including senior citizens and persons with disabilities. The recreation program is supported in a significant way by user fees, with your class fees being subsidized by tax dollars.
