Note from the Aquatic Program Administrator — Pool Schedule & Ray Williamson Pool Construction Update

Post Date:08/18/2026 3:14 PM

Our Ray Williamson Pool rehabilitation project is going extremely well, and the progress is very encouraging. As of right now, we are on schedule to finish the project in early 2027, barring any unforeseen issues. You can stay updated on the construction project by checking our website, looking at our bulletin board or live construction feed located in the Aquatic Center lobby, or by checking out the viewing windows on the pool deck.

We are about to enter the most challenging portion of the construction project when it comes to the pool schedule. In September, we will add high school sports to our already busy schedule in the Don Nakata Memorial Pool. In addition, many of our offsite options and seasonal summer pools will close. This means many users will be looking to use our site for pool access, and scheduling options will be limited due to increased school program usage and work schedules. Every program and swimmer will feel the crunch of space and time.

I ask that everyone continue to come together to support one another and share the remaining space in the Don Nakata Memorial Pool willingly. The pool schedule for September and October is updated in our online calendar. Please check that schedule daily before every visit, as it will change and rotate depending on programming needs and staff availability.

A very large THANK YOU to the greater aquatic community and every user for your continued patience and support throughout this project. It is only through everyone's good attitudes and willingness to share space generously that we've come this far with such consideration for one another. Please continue to uplift the Aquatic Center staff, as they are working hard to provide a safe, happy, and healthy experience for everyone during this challenging time.

Please feel free to reach out to me directly with any questions or concerns. See you at the pool!
