The Park District is inviting local businesses to make a direct impact on youth recreation by joining its new 2026–27 Youth Basketball League Sponsorship Program. The initiative connects community-minded businesses with families across the island while helping ensure more children can participate in youth sports regardless of financial barriers.
The program supports the Park District’s Youth Basketball League, which utilizes gymnasiums throughout the Bainbridge Island and North Kitsap School Districts. With the upcoming season beginning in November, sponsorship placements are available now. Spots are limited and early commitment is encouraged.
The reach of this program extends well beyond Bainbridge Island. With 75-80 teams participating each season and games drawing families from partner communities including Poulsbo, Kingston, Sequim, Suquamish, and Central Kitsap, sponsors gain regional visibility across a broad network of players, families, and spectators.
"This program is about more than basketball," said Sports Program Manager Audree Gormanson, the District's sponsorship contact. "It's about making sure every child who wants to play has the opportunity to do so and giving our local businesses a meaningful way to show up for the community."
Sponsorship funding directly reduces costs for families, lowering the financial barriers that can keep children from participating. In return, sponsors receive logo placement on jerseys along with optional digital and print promotion opportunities — a tangible way for businesses to grow their brand while demonstrating a genuine investment in youth development and community connection.
Businesses interested in joining the program can contact Sports Program Manager, Audree Gormanson, at audreeg@biparks.org to learn more or secure a sponsorship spot.
