The Park District is scheduled to begin replacement of the artificial turf fields at Battle Point Park on June 8, with construction expected to continue through August 14.
As part of the project, the Park District will transition from traditional rubber infill to cork infill, a more natural material intended to improve field sustainability and playing comfort. The new artificial turf fields will feature the same striping and layout as the existing fields to maintain continuity for current programming and sports use.
During construction, parking spaces adjacent to the fields will not be available. Visitors are encouraged to plan accordingly and use alternative parking areas when visiting the park.
The Park District appreciates the community’s patience during construction and looks forward to reopening the fields for public use.
