Fall 2014 Special Events

spooky woods

October celebrations can be hectic and crowded. This year, the Park District offers a seasonal alternative that can fit into your busy schedule and changeable Fall weather! Great for individuals, families, or groups. Look up. Look down. And look behind. Experience the unsettling feeling of exploring a little-known pathway enhanced for seasonal spookiness. Wide enough for buddies, flat enough for most, creepy enough for chills. The Battle Point Park Nature Trail loop will welcome walkers from Friday, October 17 at dusk until Saturday, November 1 at noon. Day or night, rain or shine. Unguided , with no live actors, this loop walk is designed for brave souls school age through adult (younger with adult discretion). Warm & glowing evening concessions Oct 24 & 25. Stop by anytime….the woods are waiting. FREE

Wish List:

Jack-O-Lanterns gone bad…if you have one that begins to rot before Halloween, leave it by the nature trail path after Oct 12 & we’ll use it!
Spider webbing…got a bag left over? Bring it to the park district office & we’ll use it!
Broken doll tea sets/doll dishes…don’t ask. We just need them. But you may not get it back. Park district office.

Youth volunteers, get this & return the signed first page to the teen center or park district office. Then come help!
Adult volunteers, look at this, & stop by during work week at Battle Point to lend a hand! We’ll have volunteer forms there.
