The Bainbridge Island Aquatics Center, consisting of two pools, is located just north of High School Road on Madison Avenue.

The Ray Williamson pool is a 25-yard, six-lane facility with a one-meter board and a sauna. The pool was built in 1970 as an outdoor facility and a roof was added in 1977.

In 2001 the Don Nakata Memorial Pool was built. It has four lap lanes, a separate diving area with one and three-meter boards, "beach" entry and play area, lazy river, tot pool, 24-person spa, and a 180' water slide.

  OPEN SWIM

All parts of the Nakata Pool are open to recreational swimming, including spa, tot pool, sauna, lazy river, diving area and slide. The party room is also available at this time. Children under 7 and anyone unable to swim 15 yards in deep water on their own must be accompanied by an adult 17 years or older.

  LAP SWIM
6 lanes in Williamson Pool are kept at 83 degrees F while the 4 Nakata Pool lanes are in the 86 degrees F range. Lap swimmers must be at least 8 years old and have level 4 swimming skills.

  FAMILY SWIM
For adults or adults with children. All children 7 and under must have an adult in the water with them. Limited areas of the pool are available. Primarily the shallow areas, tot pool, and lazy river.

  SWIRL POOL
The Swirl Pool or Spa is kept at 101-103 degrees F. It is open to those 15 and older when ever there is a scheduled Lap, Family, or Open Swim. Those who are pregnant or suffer from a medical condition, which makes immersion in hot water dangerous, are not permitted to use the spa.

  TOT POOL
The Pool is kept at 88 degrees F and is open to those 6 and younger. Older people may use the tot pool if they are not disruptive and it's not too crowded. The tot pool is open during Family and Open Swims.

  WATER SLIDE
The water slide is open intermittently during Open Swims. Those 6 and younger (and 46 inches tall) must go down with an adult.

  LAZY RIVER
The lazy river is turned on for all Open and Family swims for patrons to go with the current.  NEW:  Mon-Fri 1:30-2:30pm and Sat 11:00-12:00n the river will be open for unstructured "against the current" exercise as part of the lap swim.

  STEAM ROOM
The new steam room is unfinished.

Note: Children under 7 years old and those who cannot swim 15 yds in deep water must be accompanied by an adult 15 or older who is in the same pool within arms reach. Ask about special wrist bands for those under 7 who have passed Flying Fish.
