West Port Madison Nature Preserve is located on County Park Road and Skogen Lane. Kitsap County transferred the property to the Bainbridge Island Park District in 1988.

West Port Madison is one of Bainbridge Island’s less known trails; this ½ mile class III trail has spectacular views of the Puget Sound from a cliff at the end of the trail on the North end of the Island.  The park is located in a residential area and shares the East border of the Bloedel Reserve, a private reserve and popular Island attraction.  Hikers can expect an intimate walk along a narrow winding trail with the opportunity for a pack it in/pack it out picnic at one of the two picnic shelters along the way. This is an excellent place to observe a variety of bird life. Trailhead parking is available just East of the intersection of County Park Road and Skogen Lane.
