Gideon Park Site Plan - Public Meeting

deer in parkOn March 30, 2010 the Bainbridge Island Metropolitan Park & Recreation District held a meeting with neighbors and interested parties to discuss proposed upgrades to Gideon Park – this includes new play equipment, trail upgrades, and other improvements.

Background Information

Gideon Park was donated to the Bainbridge Island Park & Recreation District in 1987 by the heirs of Kenneth H. Gideon. The 2.4-acre park is bounded by Grow Avenue on the west and Gideon Lane on the south and is intended for quiet and passive activities.

The park contains swings and rockers for young children, a bird and butterfly garden, and a log cabin, which is currently used as a caretaker's residence. The site is used primarily as a neighborhood park.
