Welcome to our new Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Recreation District web site.
We maintain and operate nearly 1400 acres of developed and undeveloped parkland on Bainbridge Island. We also offer a wide variety of activities that thousands of residents of all ages participate in each year.
The WA State Parks and Recreation Commission has by resolution expressed its support of the potential transfer of the island’s state parks, Fay Bainbridge and Fort Ward, to the Bainbridge Island Metropolitan Park & Recreation District.
The Park District Board of Commissioners would like to hear community input on whether the BI Metro Park & Recreation District should accept the transfer of the island’s state parks. To make your preference known, please attend one or both of the following public meetings:
Date: July 7 and July 21
Time: 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Location: Bainbridge Commons – 402 Brien Drive (across from Waterfront Park)
